What a great weekend for a truck show! Clear skies and a perfect parking lot over looking the water of Lake Michigan. Competitors started showing up as early as Tuesday to get prepared for the third competition of the season. The National Association of Show Trucks along with Kirskey & Assoc presented the 2nd West Michigan Truck Show / Industry Expo. The parking lot was filled with vendors, trucks of all shapes and sizes and even some of the best looking motor coaches on the road.
The show fired up Friday morning and light judging was Friday night, competitors still had until Saturday morning to finish prepping their trucks. Saturday the competition was very tight and judges struggled with their final decision.
For the second consecutive show Bill Morgan out of Willis, MI takes home Best-of-Show Non-Working. This 1999 Kenworth T800s will stop you in your tracks; done in a Wild West theme Bill keeps the days of the stagecoach alive and well.
Best-of –Show Working Bobtail was awarded to a 1996 W900L Kenworth, Owned by Roddy’s Trucks and driven by Warren Nyland from Martin, MI. Named Shovelhead this heavy hauler tri-axle tractor with flames and enough chrome and Light’s to be seen from the space shuttle.
The Big dog is back, Jerry Kissinger from Stoughton, WI wins Best-of-Show Working Combination. A 1991 Mack super liner is burnt orange and pulls a Great Dane Reefer with an outstanding mural of horses the full length of the trailer.
The third Truck-Lite Trophy series qualifier that will be competing in Louisville, KY in 2009 at the Mid-America Truck show was awarded to Warren Nyland from Martin, MI and Roddy’s Trucks with their 1996 W900L Kenworth.
